Merry Christmas from BHDBL

Merry Christmas!

We’re all finished for 2017 so we wish to thank all of the clubs, teams and players who have made this year happen.  We’re not halfway through the season now but there are lots of matches still to play.  The Challenge Cup will be taking place early in the New Year as well as a flurry of fixtures in the league.

For now, have a great Christmas break and we wish you all the best for 2018.

Barking’s New Start Time

Please note, effective immediately, Barking will be starting their matches at 7pm instead of 7:30pm.  All match secretaries have been emailed with the new details.  If there are any issues with getting to the venue for 7pm for a match, please contact Barking directly.

Challenge Cup 2017/2018 Draw

The draw for the Challenge Cup has taken place so please see the details below.  The first match (Wychelm v Emerson Eagles 1) is to take place on the week commencing 5th February 2018.

The handicapping of the teams will take place in January 2018 so all clubs must submit their team lineup no later than 13th January.  Late submissions may result in a maximum handicap being issued.

Hunters Withdraw From Ladies for 2017/2018 Season

Due to unforeseen circumstances, it is with regret that Hunters have had to withdraw from the 2017/2018 Ladies Pairs Division 2 at the last minute.  The league table has been updated and the fixture list and calendar have also been updated to reflect the change.

Hunters will remain in the Combi Division 1 for the 2017/2018 season and we hope to see them back in the Ladies division next season.

The 2016-2017 league season has now officially ended.  The only fixtures left are in the Challenge Cup and then there’s out annual tournament.  It’s been a great season again this season with some very close matches and some very close divisions.  This years winners are:-

Ladies Pairs Division 1 – Epping

Ladies Pairs Division 3 – Hunters

Mixed Division 1 – Emerson Eagles

Combination Division 1 – Emerson Eagles 1
Combination Division 2 – Hunters

Men’s Division 2 – Emerson Eagles 1
Men’s Division 3 – Redbridge
Men’s Division 4 – Amigos

A massive thank you to all of the teams involved this season in completing the matches and getting the scorecards in quickly.  This has helped to keep the league tables as up to date as possible during the season which is a benefit to everyone.

Congratulations to this season’s big winners, Emerson Eagles, who take home 4 trophies!  A welcome return to Hunters who withdrew last season but came back strong this season taking home 2 trophies!  And final congratulations go to Barking on their successful defence (again!) of the Men’s Division 1 title for another season!

Thanks again to everyone who has participated in this season’s fixtures and a huge thanks to all of the team captains, match secretaries and the league committee for their dedication and hard work in keeping the league running each year.  The AGM is coming up on Wednesday 14th June so please come along and show your support and if you can, please volunteer to help out next season 🙂

Eagles Crowned Mixed Division Champs

Last night saw Emerson Eagles crowned BHDBL Mixed Division 1 champions without lifting a finger.  It was a crunch match for Redbridge who travelled to Corinthians needing a big win to go top of the table and put pressure on Emerson Eagles to win against Ramgarhia tomorrow.  However, Corinthians weren’t going to make things easy as they were looking to climb off the bottom of the division.

A spirited display by Corinthians saw them 6-3 winners on the night which moved them up into third place but also put an end to Redbridge’s hopes for silverware and crowned Emerson Eagles champions with a game left to play.

Well done Emerson Eagles on their 4th piece of silverware of the season!
